With guest composer John Hopkins, BAMA's first concert of the 2012-2013 season features new compositions by Lori Ardovino, Paul Clem, Rafael Crystal, William Denton, and James A. Jensen, along with two works by British composer John Hopkins, who will be in residence at the University of Montevallo.

The BAMA Players - clarinetist/saxophonist Lori Ardovino, cellist Craig Hultgren, and pianist Adam Bowles - present programs highlighting Alabama composers, including works by Lori Ardovino, Todd Gabriel, Aurelia Gooden, John Hopkins, James A. Jensen, Cynthia Miller, Bryan Page, Matthew Scott Phillips, and Ed Robertson. Concerts are free and open to the general public.

IRON GIANT PERCUSSION

University of Alabama at Birmingham - Hulsey Recital Hall

New works for percussion by Andrew Dewar, Monroe Golden, Joseph Landers, William Price, Jan Vicar, and Ron Wray, most composed specifically for this concert, will be presented by emergent percussion quartet IRON GIANT (Sam Hermann, Brett Huffman, Seth Noble, and Justin Wallace).
