Newer and unperformed compositions will be given priority in programming. However, works presented on previous Bowles-Fouse concerts, by Duo Gastesi-Bezerra, or as part of the BAMA Piano Project will be considered.
Pianist Adam Bowles is a dedicated performer of new music who also remains an active and passionate interpreter of established solo piano, chamber music, and vocal repertoire from the twentieth century and earlier. Dr. Bowles frequently performs throughout the country with the Luna Nova ensemble, of which he is a founding member. He has given numerous performances on Birmingham Art Music Alliance concerts, and has also served as Treasurer and VP of Membership for the organization. He also serves as Music Director at Faith Lutheran Church in Clay, Alabama. Dr. Bowles holds degrees from Eastman School of Music (BM) and New England Conservatory (MM), and received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Pianist Kathryn Fouse is Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX. In addition to her commitment to education, she continues to maintain an active performing career, sharing her passion for new music with audiences and actively seeking collaborative ventures with like-minded artists. In addition to her solo performances, she is in great demand as a professional accompanist, and has served as staff accompanist for many international competitions and festivals. Dr. Fouse holds degrees in Piano Performance from Baylor University (BM), Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (MM) and the University of North Texas (DMA).
