DruidCityTrio_1

On the first weekend in November, Druid City Ensemble – Dr. Sarah K. Crocker, harp; Dr. Whitney O’Neal, flute; and Dr. Dawn Neely, soprano – will give two free concerts of music written by Birmingham-area composers.

The Birmingham Art Music Alliance (BAMA) presents the first concert on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 2:30 p.m., at Southside Baptist Church.

This event is a part of BAMA’s Twentieth Anniversary Celebration, marking twenty years of presenting music by Alabama composers. At the same time, the lineup of soprano, flute, and harp defines new territory for many of the composers involved.

About Birmingham Art Music Alliance
The Birmingham Art Music Alliance is an autonomous nonprofit organization with the twofold mission of promoting music by Alabama composers and presenting concerts of recently created art music to communities in Birmingham and beyond. Members include local composers, professional performers, students, and enthusiasts who wish to preserve and maintain the long tradition of music as a living art form.

About Druid City Ensemble
The Druid City Ensemble seeks to introduce a new sound to classical chamber music with their unique combination of soprano, flute, and harp. The trio has been honored to appear as featured performers for the prestigious Second Saturday Concert Series at the St. James Chapel in Chicago and the 2014 Mid-South Flute Festival. The ensemble also regularly performs and presents master-classes at universities across the country.
